Dear Brother-Priests, Brothers and Sisters in the Lord,

In solidarity with the initiative of the Episcopal Commission on family and Life, the Roman catholic Archdiocese of Manila is enjoining everyone – priests, religious men and women, mandated organizations, committed lay men and women, and young people of the Archdiocese – to participate in a prayer power gathering on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Shrine of Mary Queen of Peace (EDSA Shrine), from 1 PM to 7 PM.

The prayer rally is called “Prayer Power Rally Against the RH Bill.”

Relying on the power of prayer and the necessity of informed awareness, we will gather together to be informed, enlightened and emboldened once more. We also wish to express why we believe the Reproductive Health Bill is not the solution to our many problems as individuals and as a country as it will even give rise to many other problems more pernicious and pervasive than the ones we face in the present.

I enjoin all parish priests and leaders of communities and lay movements to rally their members and endorse participation in this important gathering aimed at communicating a strong and sincere appeal to the goodwill of our legislators.

We once more entrust our country to the patronage of Mary, Our Lady of EDSA, as we continue to promote a genuine Culture of life and Love.

Itu2019s time for people to really wake up and just look at the facts for crying out loud. Philippines is now overly populated; dealing with a small barangay is already challenging to handle, let alone millions of people!!! If the population keeps multiplying, then where do you suppose people are going to find place to live? Will you, Mr. Antonia Tagle be providing their food? You are not the one whou2019s going to have to deal with these problems but the tax-paying citizens. So stop being such a hypocrite and start opening up your mind! Poverty, starvation, AIDS (or other sexually transmitted diseases), increasing number of crimes; these are just a few of the challenges that this country has already been faced with. Increase the population and so as these problems mentioned above. WAKE UP EVERYONE!!!

Let’s go for life?! Seriously?nnnHow backwards AND stupid are you people. Imagine what you’re opening up by opposing the RH bill: overpopulation, risk of AIDS, etc. This is definitely a good example of why religion has no place in the government. If you guys want to “go for life”, then open your eyes and quit being hypocrites! Protection DOES NOT encourage promiscuity. Sex is just a part of life that people need to deal with! I can’t believe how unreasonable the Catholic church is being! DEFINITELY A STEP DOWN FOR THE PHILIPPINES. Very saddening.

    The fact is, though, no matter how much family planning seminars and workshops we open up to everyone, mistakes happen. And there are repercussions. Repercussions that can be prevented with the proper resources that the RH bill is precisely for. I can’t believe this is even an argument.

    And study yours. Turning a blind eye against the number of women dying daily from reproductive complications is NOT “helping them”. Everyone needs to be educated as to the available options for prevention and protection. The fact that the church is pushing for banning the bill is depriving women of their basic needs!       Catholics believe in the Catholic Church, the bride of Christ. Jesus entrusted the whole truth to His church. Who are we to choose the truths that are convenient to us? That’s why we have to carry our cross, for people supporting the bill, they simply cannot carry the heavy cross of abstinence and conquering their fleshly desires. Women dying? You are treating conception as if its a disease. It is better to use the money for RH Bill in improving pre-natal and post-natal care services, thus the probability of death due to conception will decrease.

        Yup. There are provisions for those I mentioned (which are good), but there are a lot that tackle about contraception devices. People will have mentality of just engaging in sex whenever wherever they want thinking “it is safe”. Mas bababa ang pagtingin ng mga lalaki sa mga babae into a mere sex objects, nothing else. That’s why the church is pushing natural methods so that responsible sexual acts as well as respect to woman and for potential life is not compromise. People shall master their sexual instincts and not the other way around. The problem is we refuse to be virtuous and educated by Jesus through the church. The church on the other side, saw the effects of this in the west, its complication leading to culture of death.

It’s the church causes us poverty at all… May I ask how many among the priest or perhaps bishops uses condom to supress life? These are your issues in the church that needs to be confronted. Don’t act like the church people are so clean and chastise. 85% percent of Filipinos are poor catholics where is the bloody church? NOTHING! In time of disasters where are you Archbishop Tagle? You are confined inside your palace sipping your hot soup and sumptous lunches and dinners. After all the church will say: It’s the government problem! Funny is it? The government is doing it’s job on what is right for the state and it’s people.   If your reason is “kokorakutin yan imagine millioins of peso ang budget” … then by extension huwag na tayong bumili ng gamit at gamot para sa mga public hospitals natin dahil, kokoratin lang….. o kaya ihinto na natin ang pagpapagawa ng mga eskwela o mga daan …. dahil kokorakutin lang. medyo malabo ata ahhh. The guideline for any measure is often the greater good. nnLet the people decide regarding their preference in family planning. May experience na ako sa community Heath Nursing namin when i was on my college days pag pumapasok kami sa mga bahay bahay sasabihin nila anong paki alam nyo kayo ba nagpapakain sa mga anak ko.. hindi ito ang solusyon kung ibigay mo sa kanilang condom e kabuhayan nalang para maka ahon sila sa kahirapan mas maganda pa! madali nyong sabihin na yes to RH Bill binibigyan nyo lang ng panibagong kokorakutin ang mga nasa gobyerno. and My God malaki ang Pilipinas hindi pa over populated… nasasabi nyo lang yon kasi yongt nakikita nyo yong mga squatter dito sa metro manila pero kung tutuusin napaka lawak ng pilipinas para sa ating lahat sa mga batang iluluwal palang… nililihis lang ng Gobyerno ang kakulangan nila na bigyan ng hanap buhay ang sambayanang Pilipino hindi solusyon ang RH BIll kundi Trabaho ang solusyon para maka ahon sa kahairapan… Pray for all the Congressmen and to all supporters of pro RHbill ……… Say to Life no to RHBILL!!!

Bishop Tagle …. ano ang gagawin ng isang babae na marami ng anak …. sa constraksyon bilang labor nagtratrabaho ang mister ….. lasing pa lagi at gusto ng sex kahit anong oras nyang maisipan …. pag nagkamaling tumangi, bubog sarado inaabot ng babae. Noong una dinadaan sa dasal at pagpapaliwanag sa mister…. ngunit halos taon-taon na lang nabubuntis. Ano ba ang dapat dahil maliwanag na hindi nakukuha sa dasal at pagpapaliwanag ang mister…. LIMA na anak, ANG PANGANAY AY WALONG TAON PA LANG!!!!nnnA very common story right????? But like everyone else, they must make their choices and must be empowered to feel strong enough to leave an abusive relationship. Do you do your share in helping these women? It is sad that many people who do not know Archbishop Tagle personally are so quick to judge and think that he knows nothing about the realities of poverty, abuse against women, women’s reproductive health issues. If you really must argue your point, do not personalize your rants. Speak objectively and have a mature discussion on the issues and principles you believe in. There is space for mature discussion for all.
