Ex-homosexual speaker in same-sex attraction seminar

MANILA, June 14, 2012—Often lost in discussions and sometimes heated debates about homosexuality is that same-sex attraction comes with challenges that warrant much perseverance, faith and the support of other people. Now, this topic is the focus of a seminar organized by Pro-Life Philippines Foundation, slated for July 21 from 8:00am-12:00 noon.

“Understanding the Challenges of Same-Sex Attraction (Everything you want to know about Same-Sex Attraction but don’t know whom to ask),” a half-day seminar, is being conducted  to help participants learn and understand how to deal with people exhibiting same-sex attraction, whether male or female.

“Let us help to make [people experiencing same-sex attraction] understand themselves better. We must [also] understand its implications in our pastoral care, student guidance counseling and classroom management and even on our family,” organizers stated in their letter of invitation to the July 21 seminar to be held at the St. Joseph Retreat House, Conference Room, Our Lady of Loreto Parish in Legarda, Manila.

They aim to educate participants on everything they should know about same-sex attraction such as its origin, the Church’s stand on the issue, and how it strays from God’s plan for marriage and family life.

The speaker will be Ansel Beluso, a former entertainment writer and showbiz talk-show host who for years was steeped in what is often referred to as the “homosexual lifestyle.”

Beluso is now married, a father of two beautiful children, and a pastoral worker for Couples for Christ Foundation for Family and Life (CFC-FFL).

He responded to God’s call to start a psycho-spiritual program for the pastoral care and spiritual nourishment of active homosexuals who struggle to step out of the enslavement of their flesh.

He currently hosts “Digma ng Buhay,” a radio program on DZRV Radyo Veritas 846.

Family and life ministry volunteers, pastoral workers, guidance counselors, teachers and school administrators are among those enjoined to attend the half-day seminar.
