This is in response to Boy Positivo’s letter to editors published in the September 27 issue of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Protected sex is a myth. More than 60% of HIV cases comes from the MSM group (males having sex with males). This group is the most aware of the risks involved and therefore buys “protection” which eventually fails because of indiscriminate sex.

Sex is a gift from our Creator so that we may participate in His work of creation. In His goodness He imbued sex with pleasure that we may enjoy participating in His work. In His wisdom He instituted the sacrament of matrimony where families may grow in love for Him and for one another. Sex used for this God given purpose is not only safe sex. It is an expression of love for God and for the beloved spouse. It is very fulfilling for both spouses.

Sex used as mere instruments of selfish enjoyment is harmful sex. There is no protection from such sex. For how can one protect himself from himself? One has to change and by the grace of the Almighty one can.

This is the positive type of awareness that our citizens need in order to combat HIV and many other ills of Society and not the contraceptive mentality that the RH bill promotes.

Pro-RH peeps say that we should lower the price of contraceptives for better access of the poor. however, we already have RA 9025, also known as the Cheaper Medicines Act:

SEC. 23. List of Drugs and Medicines that are Subject to Price Regulation. – The list of drugs and medicines that are subject to price regulation shall include, inter alia:

(c) Drugs and medicines indicated for prevention of pregnancy, e.g., oral contraceptives;

the difference is that under RA 9025, it is the retailer/pharmacy or pharmaceutical company that will have to shoulder the expenses, so that the meds will be sold at the recommended retail price.

however, under the RH Bill, it is the ultimately the Filipino people in general, through taxes as part of the National Budget or Phillhealth contributions. who will shoulder the expenses. in short, we the Filipino people will have to pay for drugs and devices that Filipino Catholics consider as morally objectionable according to official Catholic doctrine.

This angle makes the RH Bill an issue of poor implementation of RA 9025, increasing the tax burden of the Filipino people, and a violation of conscience of practicing Filipino Catholics.

Living here in Italy where divorce and,(or) contraception are allowed by the law and many or half of couples are living without the blessing of the church, where youth have low moral value about sex and relationship, and where few people have time to go to the Church, I see that if the RH Bill WILL BE approve by the law of Philippines constitution, Our Country will face the chaos regarding the faith we have that now many countries allow such Bill and having experience this chaos. I see that the future of the Universal Church will lies with those countries that did not allow such a bill like this. PHILIPPINES is the future of the faith of the whole world. Stop RH bill.! Never stop to fight against rh bill… We are Called Filipino because of our faith in GOD.

My name is Emma with Amplified Media. We were impressed with the quality and scope of cbcpforlife.com. Your site is truly a comprehensive resource portal of digital materials on life and the family. We enjoyed learning more about the RH symposium, and how it really inspired youth.

If you really like progress, lets change the charter and lift the economic restrictions, and NOT THE RH BILL!!! No more big government!!! Population is never a problem. Its the lack of opportunity that is the problem. No more monopolies in power, media, mining etc. Invite more competition and you’ll have more jobs, less crime, lower prices on commodities, and more.

There is no freedom of choice in this RH Bill. They even put a fine and penalty of imprisonment if you go against this RH Bill!

The heart and soul of the RH Bill is the promotion of (detrimental and immoral ) the artificial contraceptives and sex education among our youth. It will just promote pre-marital sex, extra-marital affair and ABORTION! Trash the rubbish RH Bill now!

Budget allocation is the bottom-line issue of this bill… Once & if ever approved, fund appropriation follows, and who’ll benefit? Your guess is as good as mine…

I remember coming home from Batangas and saw that save for a few towns, Cavite, Batangas and Laguna aren’t overpopulated. This is in stark contrast to what the RH Bill supporters proclaim.

I assure you my special prayer for you and your love ones…

It is written in the Bible, that the church will be persecuted the way they have persecuted Christ Himself. The spirit of rebellion will double its effort to ruin the good shepherds of our Lord.. God bless you more! We are with you in prayers and sacrifices.

Lets all unite against this abomination. A few misguided flock is moving to ruin the catholic church in the Philippines so as they can advance what they want. lets all be active in defending the church and the teachings it stands. Lets join all those exchange of ideas happening across the net. They are overwhelming the people with their make believed ideas, twisting the very concept of LOVE and GOD.

There is no such thing as conditional love. Love is either unconditional or it’s no love. You might like someone conditional on their personality or behavior or circumstances. But love accepts no boundaries. So never say ‘I love you because’, for love has no cause, love comes from God. Good afternoon lovers of life…God bless us…

”A child is someone who is born into this world, a complete human person like you and me. A child is a citizen, and therefore, has human rights. Calling the unborn a child to me is going beyond what the Constitution provides.”  - “Unborn Versus MotherManila Standard Opinion

For cying out loud! These supposedly educated people have, without any conscientious reflection, adopted the paradigm of the pro-choice world. They want to live in an artificial world where personhood is defined by what a set of people would define it to be (like in a constitution) – just as has been done in the US and other countries. So, when a constitution defines that only those whose limbs are complete can be considered as persons, would a diabetic amputee no longer be a person? And how grossly ignorant and unscientific to say that a fetus is incomplete! Saying something to be so and repeatedly so, no matter the number of people saying so, does not make it so!

Women lawmakers are making a fallacy in their quest to make the Filipino people, women sector in particular, believe in their crusade to accordingly curb down maternal mortality and women health in general. They tend to generalize that majority of women in this country support their call. What they failed to realize that not all people, especially women, could be fooled by their false and baseless arguments premised in wrong and generalized assumptions.

“The RH Bill is a control mechanism to inhibit or increase total fertility rate. I think of it like a water tap. You turn the tap clockwise to inhibit the flow or you turn it counter-clockwise to increase the flow. At this time, we need to inhibit fertility rate. Our total fertility rate is the highest in the region at 3.27. We should aim for 2.1 or less. Singapore has 1.11 and Thailand has 1.66″

- No wonder Singapore is attracting foreigners to migrate in Singapore and become Singaporeans. Wala na silang workforce. Very soon, mauubos na ang mga Singaporeans.

Someone on the news has claimed that the end of the world is going to happen on October 21, this year. And because worrying situations have occurred, and still are occurring in different parts of the earth; hurricane in the West, wars in Middle East, typhoons and quakes other parts of Asia; this prediction scares many people, including me.
I was afraid because I do not know what I will have already achieved by that time. I still need a lot of years to earn money and do other things I have and want to do. The end of the world is too near if that’s the case, I told myself.

However, after some time of reflection, I personally believe that it is not yet “all”. People usually lean on the “physical” sense or connotation of the “end of the world”, but it may also mean something else’s END. Maybe it signals a START. Maybe it signals the start of complete ruin of human’s morality, comparing the thinking or mentality of people before, and now. And the case here in the Philippines is the processing of a very intriguing bill– “intriguing” because it concerns so much the whole Christian community and the morals of every Filipino.     ….. “Pro RH women can’t seem to realize that this bill will actually perpetuate the macho culture. We keep popping the pills so our men can use us anytime, anywhere without consequences. Gender and development has been with us for a long time. But up to now, many women still oppress other women. To add insult to injury, after blaming the men for women’s woes for a long time, they hand free sex to these men in a silver platter. This is utterly stupid and ridiculous!”

“After a long debate with Bruce, as he represents pro-rh people—they really just don’t care.  They do not care about the female physiology—because these men won’t be taking the pills anyway.

“Sabi ng mga PRO-RH….PRO-LIFE kami! PRO-QUALITY LIFE. What does that mean really???  Who gets to be the judge whose life is considered “quality” life or not. And if it that life does not pass the “quality control” that they are referring to, does it give anyone the right to abort that life?”

“I really feel bad whenever the RH advocates point that the church simply opposes the bill yet does not do anything for the people. Honestly, I rarely use values-oriented/moral stand in my arguments instead, I use the economic approach when talking to my agnostic-atheist friends. However, just to defend the church: I can name more church groups and organizations who assist people up close and concretely, with education, help, counsel and accompaniment than barangay health centers creating projects for healthcare. And this is done without any appropriations.”
