Teen sexuality workshop focuses on human sexuality,marriage

MANILA, March 10, 2013—An annual workshop organized by Pro-Life Philippines will discuss issues on human sexuality, marriage, family planning and population education according to the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Dubbed “Teaching Teachers on Teen Sexuality Workshop”, the activity to be held on May 23-25 aims to strengthen the ability of the participants to respond to the needs of today’s teenagers on issues surrounding them. Encouraged to take part in the workshop are teachers, counselors, catechists, parents and lay leaders.

Pro-Life Philippines said this year’s workshop includes three topics that are vital for empowering participants.

“The added topics are sex education with LGBT agenda; championing Catholic values; and how teachers, counselors, catechists, lay leaders and parents will be able to teach pro-life values despite the Reproductive Health (RH) Law,” organizers said.

Modules for the workshop are specifically designed for teachers, counselors, catechists, parents, lay leaders, and others who work or deal with adolescents.

Topics for the workshop are the meaning and value of life, defending life, understanding the teenagers/situationer, basic counseling, role play on counseling cases, orientation on modules, sex education with LGBTagenda, championing Catholic values, and teaching  pro-life values despite the RH Law.

The activity will take place at the St. Joseph Retreat House of the Our Lady of Loreto Parish in Sampaloc, Manila, with a  fee of P1, 500  inclusive of snacks, meals, handouts and certificate.
